Privacy policy
Draft, last edited 2026. This is a genuine starting point, not a final policy. Have a lawyer review it and fill in the details specific to your registered business before publishing it.
1. Introduction
This policy explains what information Beelooo collects when you use our website and app, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have over it. It applies to the marketing website at beelooo.com and to the Beelooo app at app.beelooo.com. If you have questions after reading it, the contact details at the end of this page go to a real person, not a form that disappears into nowhere.
We wrote this policy to actually be read, not just published to satisfy a checklist. If a section is unclear, that is worth telling us, because the goal is for you to understand what happens to your information, not to bury it in language designed to discourage anyone from finishing the page.
2. Information we collect
We collect a few different categories of information, depending on how you use Beelooo.
- Account information. Your name, business name, email address, and phone number when you create an account, plus your password, stored in encrypted form, never in plain text.
- Business data. The invoices, quotes, inventory records, customer details, and expense entries you create inside Beelooo. This data belongs to you, and we treat it as confidential business information, not as something we mine for our own purposes.
- Payment information. When you pay for a subscription, your payment is processed by a third party payment provider. We do not store your full card number ourselves. We keep a record of the transaction, the plan, and the amount, for your billing history.
- Usage data. How you use the app and the website, which pages you visit, which features you use, collected only if you have accepted analytics cookies through the cookie banner.
- Device and log information. Your browser type, device type, IP address, and similar technical details that most websites and apps collect automatically to keep things running and secure.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above for a specific, limited set of purposes.
- To provide the Beelooo app itself, including generating your invoices, tracking your inventory, and producing your reports.
- To process payments and maintain your billing history.
- To respond when you contact support or write in with a question.
- To send you service related communications, such as a notice about planned maintenance or a change to these terms.
- To send you product updates or marketing communications, but only if you have opted in to receive them, and always with an easy way to opt back out.
- To understand how the product is used, so we can decide what to improve, using aggregated and anonymized data wherever possible.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues.
4. Legal basis for processing
Where the Nigeria Data Protection Act requires a specific legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on one or more of the following depending on the situation: your consent, where you have actively agreed, such as accepting analytics cookies or opting into marketing emails; the necessity of processing to perform our contract with you, such as using your account details to run your subscription; and our legitimate interest in operating and improving Beelooo securely, which we balance against your right to privacy.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses necessary cookies to function correctly, for example to remember that you are logged in or to keep the cookie banner from reappearing on every page. Analytics and marketing cookies are used only if you accept them through the cookie banner when you first visit. You can change your preferences at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Rejecting analytics or marketing cookies does not affect your ability to use Beelooo itself.
6. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data or your business data, and we never will. We share information only in the following limited circumstances.
- Service providers. Companies that help us run Beelooo, such as our hosting provider and our payment processor. They only receive what they need to do their specific job, and they are bound by contracts that limit how they can use it.
- Legal requirements. If we are required to disclose information to comply with a valid legal process, such as a court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Beelooo, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Beelooo is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same protections described in this policy.
7. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. We limit internal access to personal and business data to the people who genuinely need it to do their jobs, such as responding to a support request. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable, ongoing steps to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
8. Data retention
We keep your account and business data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we retain your data for a limited period afterward in case you wish to reactivate, and then delete it, except where we are required to keep certain records for longer to comply with tax, accounting, or other legal obligations.
9. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you have a number of rights over your personal data, including the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, the right to request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data, the right to request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements, the right to object to certain kinds of processing, such as marketing, and the right to request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the end of this page, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
10. Children's privacy
Beelooo is a business tool intended for business owners and their staff, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it.
11. International data transfers
Some of our service providers, such as our hosting infrastructure, may process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we take steps to make sure your data continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as Beelooo grows or as the law changes. If we make a change that meaningfully affects your rights, we will let you know, either by email or through a notice on the app, before the change takes effect.
13. Contact us
Questions, requests, or concerns about this policy can be sent to privacy@beelooo.com. We aim to respond to any privacy related request within a reasonable time, and generally within one business day for a straightforward question.
